Sorry this is late!

So I didn't have any internet where I was this past weekened, and trying to post a blog on my cell phone, well, let's just say I was not very successfull. lol. So my opinion on what we did in class on thurday, well I was sooo bored! That was the third class like that that I had taken, and this instructor by far was the worst. I felt like I was watching Ben Stein. Do you know how hard it was to keep myself awake! OMG! But I guess it helps that I know what to do already, because I wouldn't have been able to stay awake if weren't have been for the computer sitting in front of me.

HA! Librarians are so funny...

Todays class was ridiculous and quite funny all at once. It was ridiculous at the fact that the librarian took an entire class period just to explain to us how to search the library via internet. It could have easily taken 15-20 minutes max to explain how to do everything. But no, he wanted to explain everything in detail and in depth. I thought it was hilarious when he was showing us where the books number is located and how to find it in the library. Who honestly has never gone to the library and learned how to find the book they are looking for? I even know how to find them and I HATE reading and barely use the library. Its like one of the first things you learn in elementary school. You even take "field trips" to the library when you are in elementary school because kids love looking up books. If you have never looked up a book in a library, then you must of had some really easy teachers in middle school-high school.

"Poltics and The English Language...." What?

GEORGE ORWELL.... If you could hear me, I would tell you how much I DISLIKED this essay! It's wasn't that it was stupid, I didn't understand any of it! I wish I could find a "Politics and the English Language... FOR DUMMIES!" That would make things a lot easier! I was so confused when I was writing the notes, but I managed! Today in class we talked about euphemism's and I couldn't help but to crack up at some of the one's on the website. I thought a lot of them were kinda perverted. But maybe it was just because Kate said they were! My favorite was blowing the brass trumpet! I about died! But back to Orwell, I've never really had any trouble understanding things, but this essay took me on a roller coaster ride! My brain actually hurt! I guess it's going to be a loooooong weekend of studying and breaking down this essay! Boo.

Hitler Baby

As we talked about Hitler in class today, all I could think about was the Hitler baby. I think this picture is hilarious! My 11th grade history teacher showed me this when we talked about Hitler in class and every time someone says Hitler now, this picture is what pops in my head. Hitler was very brilliant, but so messed up at the same time. Its just crazy what people will do to other humans. He was an amazing speaker and very persuasive, but that doesn't make up for what he did to all those poor Jews. I loved The Office video that we watched in class today too. I love The Office ever since I started watching it at the 3rd season. But I have never seen this episode of it yet. I really enjoy when she shows videos like that in class because it helps me to really connect with what we are working on in the class.

Run Sentences will be the death of me...

So when we started to work on run on sentences in class I thought to myself, "No big deal! I know how to use proper grammer!" Bur after seeing one of my examples being used, I was not so sure. I didn't think that comma usage, and run on sentence could be so confusing! I was very surprised when you brought up "fanboys." I have never heard of this acronym. IT was something totally new to me! After this class I've realized, that I have some work to do when it comes to comma usage, run-on sentences, and basically just simple sentence structure. Thanks alot Columbia County School Systems! A Big thumbs up to you!

Rainbow cake

So as I was looking up rainbows, since we talked about the charter amendment in class on Thursday and Tuesday and I found this rainbow cake. How awesome does that look! I don't know how they pulled that off, but it is amazing. Hahaha its a little off topic but I thought it looked really cool so I wanted to show you guys too. Anyways, I think its funny how organizations will do anything to get you to be on their side. For example, the video about the little girl going into the bathroom and the creeper guy following her in shows that they were using a scare tactic. The charter amendment is not going to allow creeps like that into a girls bathroom. I did love the other organizations come back to that commercial though. It was very clever and fast but directly to the point and states what the amendment REALLY is going to do.

Being Pretty Isn't Always Healthy

So reading the women fear factor article really did make alot of sense. even though it could be either way, women are more likely to feel the effect of the media. So this ties into my picture with the nail shop. women are constantly going to get manicure's and pedicure's to look presentable but while trying to do that we become unaware of the health risks were getting ourselves into. we dont liberately go in the nail shop asking did you clean out your foot tub. but when the media hypes things up thats when we become concerned. they blow things up to get our attention & to get us to buy.
